Jr. Underwriter

Primary Function
The role of the Jr Underwriter is to review and analyze documentation provided on each loan including the 1003, credit report, income and asset documentation, purchase agreement, title report, etc. to make an informed lending decision in compliance with Newrez polices and guidelines.
Principal Duties
• Maintain daily workflow prioritization & perform the proper compliant review to ensure every loan has been processed in quality, timely and an overly efficient manner
• Communicate with all 3rd parties tied to the transaction, including, but not excluded to the appropriate Title Company and Appraisal Management Company
• Work closely with our internal departments: Underwriting, Secondary, Closing and Post-Closing
• Establish a proper communication channel with Borrower and/or NewRez approved Broker
• Process all loans according to established company Service Level Agreements
• Complete all Jr Processing tasks pursuant to the established systemic conditions
• Utilize Newrez reporting platform to manage and perform pipeline related tasks
• Ensure all files are completed in accordance with established Service Level Agreement(s)
• Other duties as directed
Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
• Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Detail oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must work well in a team environment
• Proficient with MS Office
